Burroughs Wellcome Fund’s Career Award for STEM Teachers ↴
2024 BWFCAST Award application cycle now open
The Burroughs Wellcome Fund’s Career Award for STEM Teachers (CAST) recognizes outstanding STEM teachers in North Carolina public primary and secondary schools. The award provides $175,000 over five years and is available to teachers who have an outstanding performance record in educating children and who demonstrate a solid knowledge of STEM content. Special consideration will be given to teachers working in hard-to-staff, economically-deprived classrooms in North Carolina. Special consideration also will be given to efforts that integrate environmental science and climate change into STEM-related curricula. Applications are open through Sept. 29. The U.S. Department of Education recently announced more than $44 million for 22 grants nationwide under the Rural Postsecondary and Economic Development (RPED) program.
