Six schools are the latest in the region to be recommended for this designation ↴
STEM Schools of Distinction rising in Eastern NC
STEM East, an initiative of the NC East Alliance, has announced that six schools in the region have been recommended as STEM Schools of Distinction (SSoD) by the N.C. Department of Public Instruction, which will add to the eight already recognized in Pitt County (5) and Greene County (3). Once the State Board of Education grants this designation, the total number of schools in the STEM East region could reach 14, representing 28 percent of all active SSoD schools statewide, highlighting the leadership and commitment of the region to high-quality, career-connected STEM education. So, what does a quality STEM school or program look like? Visit the STEM Schools of Distinction webpage to learn more.
