National awareness celebration set for July 14-18 ↴
Get ready for National Summer Learning Week
Many may define the beginning of summer in academic terms — as the end of the school year. In astronomical terms, the start of summer can be defined very precisely: it begins on the summer solstice, which occurs tomorrow (June 20). So, as we officially welcome in summer, it's also a reminder that the NSLA's National Summer Learning Week is coming up. Summer Learning Week is a nationwide celebration that elevates the importance of summer learning by keeping kids engaged, safe, and healthy during the summer months. Held annually in July, this week (July 14-18) shines a spotlight on the vital role high-quality summer programs play in supporting student success and closing the opportunity gap. Summer Learning Week brings together programs, educators, community leaders, and policymakers to help communities raise awareness about the importance of summer learning and celebrate the programs making a difference. Additionally, you can always visit the NC STEM Center to submit and/or explore summer resources and opportunities in North Carolina. Happy Summer!.
